Abhyanga (Oil Massage)

Massaging the body with lukewarm oil is useful for maintaining health, treating Vata-related conditions, and addressing issues caused by physical strain.

Paadabhyanga (Foot Massage)

Massaging both feet with lukewarm oil is effective in treating conditions related to the feet, promoting sleep, and improving eye health.

Shiroabhyanga (Head and Scalp Massage)

Massaging the scalp and hair with specific lukewarm oil is beneficial for addressing hair and scalp-related issues, inducing sleep, and nourishing the head and neck.


This therapy involves the flow of selected lukewarm liquids like decoction, oil, ghee, and milk in a uniform stream over the forehead. It is suitable for treating disorders related to the head, neurodegenerative diseases, hypertension, sleeplessness, anxiety, stress, and speech difficulties.


In this treatment, a cap is fixed over the scalp, and specific lukewarm oil is filled inside and retained for a specific duration. It is ideal for neurological disorders related to the head, such as hemiplegia, facial nerve palsy, different types of headaches, and some psychological disorders.


Specific lukewarm oil is poured over the patient's body from a specific height. This is recommended for neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, chronic Vata diseases, and individuals prone to Vata aggravation.

Pinda Sweda

Selected drugs are boiled and tied into a bolus form (pinda) and used for sudation. Commonly used drugs include rice, wheat, greengram, blackgram, horsegram, and sesame.

Valuka and Lavana Sweda

Heated sand or rock salt is tied into a bolus form (pinda) and used for sudation. It is beneficial for acute musculoskeletal diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and spondylosis.

Snigdha Patrapinda Sweda

Different leaves with specific drugs are fried and tied into a bolus form (pinda) for sudation. This therapy is useful in various neurological disorders, degenerative disorders, and musculoskeletal issues.

Nadi Sweda

The decoction of specific roots and leaves is boiled, and the steam is used for sudation. It is recommended for muscular pains, contractures, spasms, and stiffness.

Parisheka Sweda

A decoction prepared from specific roots, leaves, oils, and milk is poured in a uniform stream over the patient's body. This therapy is useful in treating skin diseases, neuromuscular diseases, vascular diseases, acute joint diseases with pain, swelling, and stiffness.

Avagaha Sweda

In this therapy, the patient sits or lies down in a tub filled with specific decoction, oil, or milk. It is beneficial for neuromuscular degenerative diseases related to the hip or below the hip region.

Bashpa Sweda

Patients are placed in a steam chamber, which is effective in treating neuromuscular disorders and is commonly used before purificatory therapies.

Udwartana and Utsadana

Powders or pastes of specific drugs are rubbed over the body in a particular direction. These treatments are used to address obesity and promote healthy, glowing skin.

Katibasti and Greevabasti

A ring made of blackgram powder is fixed over a specific area, and specific lukewarm oil is filled inside it. It is used for the treatment of degenerative and musculoskeletal disorders related to the spine.


A mixture of specific drugs is applied over the affected area and tied using specific leaves. This is recommended for degenerative joints, areas with contractures, and swelling.


Different drugs are made into a paste and applied over the head. It is tied with specific leaves and left in place for a specific duration. This therapy is useful in treating hypertension, sleeplessness, neurological disorders.


In this therapy, medicated smoke is inhaled using a special instrument, which is beneficial for treating certain respiratory disorders and ENT complaints.


Non-poisonous leeches are applied over the affected area to extract vitiated blood. This therapy is ideal for local skin lesions, joint swelling, and pimples.
